Subtle Konad Flowers & Konad Seahorses

I ordered a Konad set for myself; it should be here March 3rd. A friend of mine loaned me her set so I could try out the stamping system before placing my own order.

I wanted my first Konad manicure to be very subtle because I normally wear acrylic paint nail art and that’s always opaque. Subtle decoration is something I can’t do with acrylic paint, so I tried some light golden flowers over Sephora by OPI’s “Access 24/7″ - a jelly hot pink. I used China Glaze’s “Awakening” for the stamped flowers.

My second Konad manicure was all about breaking out some new, bright colors for spring. I used Sephora by OPI’s “IM Beauty” as my yellow tips, and Sephora by OPI’s “I’m Wired” as the seahorse stamps.

All in all, Konad is very fast and easy to use. Much faster than handpainting with acrylic paint! If you have any issues with placing nail art on your non-dominant hand, Konad might be for you. I’m totally in love and can’t wait for my order to come in. I’ll be sure to show you guys which plates I get and what I do with them. Search “Konad” on YouTube to see videos on how the Konad stamping system works.

Checkered Print Tutorial coming up next. Sorry for the delay; I caught a computer virus!

Konad is incredibly easy. I messed up the very first nail I did (aligned it wrong) and that was all the practice I needed.

I don’t use their special polishes, either - I’ve been stamping with Essie, China Glaze, and others. This talk about “normal” polishes drying out too fast is weird to me, because I haven’t had any problems.

    Shattered,

I haven’t had any trouble with non-Konad stamping polishes either. I’ve used two China Glazes and a Sephora by OPI so far and both worked just fine. My own kit arrived yesterday, (I’m so excited!) and with it some stamping polishes. The only difference I’ve noticed is that the Konad stamping polishes seem to be more opaque. But in the case of the first picture on this post, that’s not even the look I was going for so it’s nice to have options. :)
